Interface Overview
What is the PowerStrip?
The PowerStrip is Berri's floating toolbar - a small, customizable bar that stays visible above all your apps. It gives you instant access to your most-used features and websites without switching windows. You control what appears in it, where it sits on your screen, and how it's organized.
Berri has three distinct interface modes, each designed for different use cases:
1. Default View (Welcome Screen)
- Purpose: Initial setup and onboarding
- Appearance: Full welcome interface with customization options
- When You'll See It: Only during first launch and setup
- Size: Medium-sized window for comfortable setup
2. PowerStrip View (Compact Mode)
- Purpose: Unobtrusive access when you're focused on other work
- Appearance: Small, minimalist floating button/bar with your selected features
- When to Use: When you want Berri available but not distracting
- Size: Very small footprint on your screen
Orientations:
- Vertical: Tall, narrow PowerStrip (35px wide × 190-350px tall, collapsed to expanded)
- Horizontal: Wide, short PowerStrip (230px wide × 40px tall)
3. Hover View (Expanded Mode)
- Purpose: Full access to all Berri features and tools
- Appearance: Complete interface with all your selected modules visible
- When to Use: When actively using Berri's productivity features
- Size: Customizable, larger window for comfortable interaction
- Features: Access to Notes, Clipboard, Files, Browse, Website Quick Access, and Settings
- Customization: Show/hide modules and reorder them in Settings > PowerStrip Customization
Each mode is optimized for different workflows and usage patterns.
